Blazerbu cabin

Description

Blazerbu is a 4 bedroom cabin sleeping 8 at Holsåsen, a quiet high mountain area near Vats/Bergsjøområdet and 15 km from the ski resort Geilo. Built in 2007, it is 1000m above sea level and has beautiful views towards Hallingskarvet, Reineskarvet and Blåbergji. It is a short distance (200m) to cross country trails during the winter and it has access to great hiking areas in the summer. The nearest village/town with a grocery store is Hol 5 km away, and there is a train station at Geilo.

The 120m2 cabin has 2 bedrooms on the first floor and 2 on the second floor/loft. The entrance to the loft has steep stairs (see picture). The stairs are secured with a gate upstairs, but not downstairs. The cabin has a cozy outdoor area with furniture. Gas grill and campfire pan. Outside there is an outdoor area with garden furniture and a barbeque plus a place to park a car.  Pets are allowed at the cabin and it can be reached by a year-round road.

Children’s equipment at the cabin:
There are three clip-clop chairs (one with hoop), and one is adapted to Stokke-Newborn seat (not available at the cabin). There is also an IKEA high chair. The kitchen in equipped with plates and cups in plastic, cup with spout and some children’s cutlery.

The cabin has a rocking chair for babies, baby gym, children’s bed, potty, toilet seat with steps for kids, changing-mat to use on the floor, changing table and bathtub for kids.

You will find toys for kids up to 5 – 6 years, some board games/jigsaw puzzles, drawing books and books. There are two baby duvets (60*60), two medium duvets for children (80*100), two junior duvets, and extra stroller which can be used as a baby bed, and an older Simo stroller (can be used as a baby stroller/sports stroller). There are also outside-toys and a pile of sand near the cabin can be used as a sandpit.

Activities/attraction in the area:

The cabin is centrally located in upper Hallingdal where you can find a number of adventure and cultural activities all year round. For example, Geilo, Hallingdal Feriepark (Holiday park) in Ål, Hol Cheese Factory which sells local products, Langedrag (Nature park), Hallingskarvet Fjellbad (indoor swimming pool), open summer mountain farms and fishing.

There are a number of areas for hiking in the summer and for cross-country skiing in the winter. In the summer you can drive along the Varaldsetvegen road to Vats however during winter the road is only open as far as Storemyr.

Fishing in the area: There is limited access to fishing at Holsåsen, but you can buy fishing licence to Holsfjorden, Hallingdalselva and Bergsjøområdet.
